Poster Draft Eleven

Film Poster Draft Ten

After looking at previous drafts I decided to change the layout of my poster to make it conform to the horror genre more. I changed the background to a black and red colour to enhance audience interpretations of the horror genre. I then used the same image as before but without it being so simplistic and used the close up in the poster. I changed the contrast and brightness to make him look sinister and a foreboding character. I then also changed the font of the tagline and film name to make it look like it was a part of the slashing action, like it was being dragged across with a knife or even torn apart.

Film Mag Draft 5

This is another developmental draft of my previous drafts. On this draft I decided to change the positioning of the information to make it look effective, however I think that it may look a bit too clustered for a horror magazine and there is a lot of font variety which I think makes the magazine look like a different genre.

Poster Draft Nine

This is another draft of my film poster I decided to include the red background and also changed the way the font looked on the poster to make it look jagged. however, I think that the poster does look very unconventional and does not really reflect the horror genre as well as it should therefore I have decided to use a different layout to make sure the genre is seen well and also to show a clearer image that is not so ambiguous.

Film Magazine Draft 4

This is a developmental draft where I decided to change the font of the headline and also the caption. I think that changing it added to the horror feel and made the piece look like it had more variety which is something that people look for when reading magazines. I also changed the image as this looked like it was more appropriate for the genre also, the photo was much clearer and represented the character in the film well.

Film Magazine Front Cover Draft 3

This is the third draft of my film magazine. I wanted to make my magazine a horror specific magazine therefore I decided to add a blood splatter which I edited on Photoshop to show the decay and foreboding involving blood. I then used a midshot of the killer holding a chain to show how deadly he was. however I think I may use a different image because the facial expressions aren't very clear. The font of the title was written in a slashed effect of writing to show the influence of slashing and killing in the horror genre.
I then created a tagline along the top of the magazine to show how there are different horror magazines but this one is full of gore and full of other exciting horror information. I also followed the basic convention of there being an issue number and release date for the magazine but I did not add a barcode or price therefore I will change that next time. I then included a button to entice the audience and make them feel a part of the magazine. I also included various sell lines to engage the readers and let them know what to expect to find in the magazine.
I then also included the film name as the headline with a caption on the bottom to show the audience what was exclusive in this issue. I then included the names of different horror films that would also be featured conforming to conventions of a horror magazine. I then used different sub images of various films to show the readers other things that will make this magazine unique.
